More About The Houjicha (Sold in 1 oz. Multiples)

Made during the last few weeks of the tea harvest, Houjicha is a popular Japanese roasted green tea. As a tradition, only the large pale green tea leaves (known as ‘Bancha’) are steamed, dried, and then roasted in small batch ovens. It has a mild and nutty flavor with caramel notes which makes it a truly unique "green tea".

Water Temperature: 185°F
Leaf to Water Ratio: 1 Teaspoon per 8 oz
Steep Time: 3-4 minutes / 2 infusions
